How much is delivery and how long will it take?

We’re proud to offer FREE delivery on every order over £60, and for orders between £35 - £60, you can pay a flat delivery charge of £6.99! Delivery times and days vary dependent on where you live and what you have ordered, but rest assured, one of our lovely team will contact you after you checkout to let you know when to expect your order.

Who are Vegetarian Express and what is the Vegex shop?

We’re an online larder of over 700 of the very best vegan and vegetarian ingredients, carefully selected by chefs! We’ve been providing the finest plant-based ingredients to chefs and professional kitchens all over the UK for over thirty years, and we’re finally opening our larder to the public. Stocked with the rare and hard to get, value bulk staples and the latest cutting-edge plant-based food.

What is my username?

Your username is the email you registered to your Vegetarian Express account.

Do I have to make an account?

You can browse our range without an account, but to place an order you need to have one! Don’t worry, we’ve made the process as painless as possible.

How do I make an account?

It’s easy! Just click on the ‘person’ icon at the top left of the screen to start. You’ll need to enter your personal details, your contact details, address and set communication preferences. Also, rest assured we won’t ever share your details with anyone else.

What happens if I forget my password?

Under our login page you can click on the ‘Forgot Your Password’ link. You will receive an email with a link to reset. Please be sure to check your junk too. If you did not receive an email please contact our customer service team on, they will be happy to help!

How do I make an order?

Ordering through our website is quick and easy. Simply set up your account, then browse our fantastic range to build your basket. When you’re ready to check out simply click on the basket icon in the top right to proceed to payment.

I haven’t received my order confirmation?

Once you have placed an order, we will send you a copy of the payment and a view of your items by email. If you do not see your email in your inbox, please ensure you check you junk folder.

Where do you deliver?

For our full range (minus frozen food), we currently deliver in all major areas across the UK. For frozen food, we are currently more restricted, but we adding more delivery areas all the time, so be sure to keep checking. For a full list of current delivery areas – see below.

I entered the wrong delivery address; can I change it?

If you’ve entered the wrong address and already processed your order, we may need to amend or cancel your order. Please contact our customer service team on for help with this.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently process payments through PayPal.

I decided I don’t want to keep my items – can I return them?

Once you have placed an order and received that order, we are unable to accept returns. If you are not happy with your order, you can contact our customer services team on to discuss.

What if my item is damaged or faulty?

Don’t panic! In the rare event your items have arrived damaged, we will replace them free of charge. Simply contact customer services team on

I would like a refund?

If you are not happy with your order or our service, then please get in contact with our customer service team on and we will be happy to discuss.

Why are pack sizes so big?

Our business supplies to professional kitchens and qualified chefs, so some of our products are chef sized!

Do you offer samples?

At the moment we unfortunately do not offer sample products.

Is your packaging recyclable?

We are working on lots of areas to minimise our impact on the environment, and that includes our packaging. All our orders are packed in recycled cardboard boxes, which are fully recyclable. Our small pack spice and herb range is also packed in home-compostable packaging. The nature of our ‘for chef’ range, means many of our products are packed in no-frills packaging (it’s all about the high-quality ingredients inside!), for example, we only use single wrap plastic on our grains and pulses, granola ranges and bulk herbs and spices ranges (which reduces the plastic weight). For all other products, please refer to the packaging for details.

What does it mean when you say you’re a Certified B Corporation?

There is a new way of doing business, where value is not just measured financially but also measured on the positive effect we have on the world around us.
